Leif Johnson Ford Donates $27,000
Leif Johnson Ford donates $27,000 to Susan G. Komen Austin, hosts community event
AUSTIN, Texas, June 26, 2017 – Leif Johnson Ford is hosting a community event at their dealership on Wed., June 28 from 1-2:30 p.m. to celebrate their successful fundraising efforts on behalf of Susan G. Komen® Austin.
For the second consecutive year, Leif Johnson Ford pledged $100 from every new F-Series sale during Ford Truck month to support breast cancer awareness and research within the Austin community. In total, Ford raised $27,000 for Komen Austin this year.
“Breast cancer effects are widespread, not only for the person fighting the disease, but also amongst their loved ones,” said Fred Trudeau, general manager at Leif Johnson Ford. “To beat this disease, we hope to continue to be part of the solution. This donation could not have been possible without our customers, and we are so grateful to them and our employees for their support. This is one check that our entire family at the six Leif Johnson facilities is very excited to present.”
Komen Austin works to attack breast cancer on all fronts – education, screening, treatment, follow-up care, survivorship, support, advocacy and research. To illustrate the impact of Ford’s donation, consider that $27,000 could provide free, life-saving mammograms for 270 people in the Austin community.
“We are incredibly thankful for Leif Johnson Ford’s partnership and generous donation to Komen Austin,” said Suzanne Stone, executive director at Susan G. Komen Austin. “Leif is a great example of a corporate citizen that is dedicated to giving back to the local community, and their contribution will help Komen fulfill its mission of providing access to health resources and supporting local survivors.”
The event will include catered appetizers, interviews with representatives from both organizations, as well as a live check hand-off ceremony.
For media in attendance, Fred Trudeau and Suzanne Stone will speak more in depth about the donation and the how their partnership supports the mission of ending breast cancer.
Media interested in attending should send questions directly to email@example.com.
Komen Austin will also be streaming interviews and the check hand-off ceremony on Facebook Live starting at 1:30 p.m. Media and the public can tune in at https://www.facebook.com/komenaustin.
