Leif Johnson Ford Family Raises over $34,000 to Support Susan G. Komen Austin
AUSTIN, TX, May 28, 2018 – For the third year in a row, The Leif Johnson Ford Family pledged $100 from the sale of each new F-Series truck during Ford Truck Month to support breast cancer awareness and research within the Austin community. Through the purchases made across its three new car dealerships, the Leif Johnson Ford Family raised $34,400 for Susan G. Komen Austin this year.
To celebrate their successful fundraising efforts on behalf of Komen Austin, Leif Johnson Ford is presenting its donation at its Buda dealership on May 29, 2018 at 9:30 am. In addition to a check hand-off ceremony, the event will offer interviews with representatives from both organizations.
“Breast cancer continues to widely impact our families, friends, and communities.” Said Fred Trudeau, general manager at Leif Johnson Ford. “We are proud of our customers and our employees for making this donation possible and are honored to continue contributing to the fight against breast cancer on a local level.”
In total, Leif Johnson Ford has raised $110,600 for Komen Austin over the past three years, including this year’s donation. For perspective, that amount is equivalent to the cost of 1106 life-saving mammograms. These funds will be used to aid the variety of initiatives that Komen Austin pursues, including education, screening, treatment, follow-up care, survivorship, support, advocacy, and research.
“We can’t thank the Leif Johnson Ford Family enough for continuing to push this annual fundraising forward to support our efforts to reduce the impact of breast cancer in the Austin area,” said Suzanne Stone, executive director at Susan G. Komen Austin. “The generous donations that the Leif Johnson Ford family has made over the past few years have made a significant impact on our mission to support local survivors and provide them with better access to the care they need.”
