AUSTIN, TX— The 17th Annual Komen Austin Race for the Cure, presented locally by Dell, will be held on November 15th in Historic Downtown Austin with a fun-filled day for participants of all ages. The day is dedicated to celebrating breast cancer survivors, standing with those still fighting, and remembering those we have lost.

Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo and Mayor Adler kick off this year’s Race along with Amy from presenting media sponsor, iHeart Media’s The Bobby Bones Show. Amy is this year’s Race for the Cure Honorary Chair and will emcee pre-Race activities along with KVUE’s Terri Gruca.

The 5K/1 mile course begins at the Bob Bullock museum on Congress Avenue around the Capitol complex and down Congress Avenue over Lady Bird Lake. Timed runners begin at 7:15 AM, untimed runners and walkers at 7:30 AM. Registration will remain available online until 11:59 AM on Saturday, November 14th. Participants will be treated to a wide variety of entertainment acts along the course a Sponsor Expo, Kids for the Cure area featuring Tiny Tails Petting Zoo, the first ever Survivor/Forever Fighter parade, live performances by Austin’s girl band, The MRS. and country music star Sunny Sweeney, a healthy cooking demonstration by the Sustainable Food Center, and plenty of food trucks for a post-Race meal.

Race weekend kicks off with the Survivors and Forever Fighters Celebration dinner, held on Saturday evening, November 14th at the Carillion Room at the AT&T Center. The event is free for survivors and fighters. Tickets are $35 for guests. To RSVP for the dinner, go to
